2022 Chapter Update 4

Please know that the brothers at the Provincial Chapter are keeping the Province in our prayers. We are praying for all the friars, the province’s ministries, our friends & benefactors, and any other needs that we may have at this time.

We begin each meeting by asking for the guidance of the Holy Spirit, and for the intercession of Our Blessed Mother Mary, St. Dominic, and St. Martin de Porres.

Today’s morning session was a time to go over the agenda for the next few days at the Provincial Chapter. The procedures for the Chapter Commissions were reviewed first. Then, the process of election of a Prior Provincial was carefully examined and any questions were clarified before the election process tomorrow.

The friars were reminded of the Oath of Confidentiality that we have taken; we must not share any part of the election process (or any other part of the Provincial Chapter) with anyone outside of the capitulars or those involved directly in the Chapter. For this reason, the friars at the Provincial Chapter are not able to answer specific questions about the occurrences in the Chapter. The necessary announcements (i.e., elections or the ACTA) will be made at the appropriate time.

The rest of the morning and the afternoon were spent diligently working in the Chapter Commissions. These days of the Provincial Chapter have been very prayerful as we consider the needs of the Province. Please keep the friars at the Provincial Chapter in your prayers.
