Database Manager Southern Dominican Province of St. Martin de Porres New Orleans, Louisiana
The Southern Dominican Province, USA is part of the 800-year-old Order of Preachers, a Catholic, worldwide religious order comprised of priests, brothers, nuns, sisters, and lay men and women. Also referred to as the Dominicans, the Order’s mission is to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ in word and deed.
Under the patronage of St. Martin de Porres, the Southern Dominican Province, is currently comprised of 82 priests and brothers, all of whom minister in the Southern United States (primarily in Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Texas). Founded 40 years ago, our headquarters are based in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Database Manager Responsibilities:
1) To maintain data integrity
Input all donations into donor software (Gabrielsoft).
Update donor database with life events such as moves, marriages, deaths, etc.
Update donor database contact information such as addresses, phone numbers, email addresses, and other helpful information.
Create donation acknowledgment letters with appropriate tax information in a timely manner.
Generate reports for office mailings, newsletters, solicitations, and appeals.
2) Perform additional duties as assigned to assist development and communications
Qualifications
A bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of experience with databases.
Clear and effective verbal and writing skills.
Experience in database management and Quickbooks.
Understands the Catholic faith, traditions, and culture. Practicing Catholic preferred.
Requirements
Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented with the ability to prioritize and balance a multi-faceted workload.
Willingness to explore and learn ways to improve database practices.
Willingness to gain a clear understanding of the mission of the Order of Preachers, and the Southern Dominican Province, and the ability to articulate and promote the Province’s mission and ministries.
This position starts at 20 hours per week, with more hours possible.
Salary rate: 18.00 – 20.00 dollars per hour.
The database manager reports to the Prior Provincial and his Vicar.
The Database Manager will collaborate with the provincial promoters of development and media.
