New Master of the Order of Preachers

We thank God! The 88th Master of the Order of Friars Preachers has been elected! Fr. Gerard Francisco Timoner III, OP, is a son of the Dominican Province of the Philippines and the first Asian Master of the Order.

Fr. Timoner was previously socius for Asia for the Order and a former Prior Provincial for the Province of the Philippines. In 2014, Pope Francis appointed Fr. Timoner as a member of the International Theological Commission.

Fr. Timoner was born on Jan. 26, 1968 and is a native of Daet in Camarines Norte in the Philippines.
