Faith is a gift from God handed down to generations that gives meaning in life and hope for the next. Faith needs to grow each day, moment by moment. Times of gladness as well as sadness offer opportunities to develop and flourish in the promise.
Like a garden, Faith needs daily watering, pruning, and weeding. Watering with the Eucharist, prayer and sacrifice, pruning and weeding in the Sacrament of Reconciliation. Perseverance in prayer and love develop desire and deeds in charity in the life of Grace. Like the plant that cannot survive without the sun, so the soul cannot survive without the “Son”.
We have been sprinkled with Baptismal water to begin our growth in Faith, Hope, and Love. We have been fed and nurtured by the Eucharist and prepared for battle in Confirmation. It is Faith, our gift from God, that we should give thanks daily and be determined to live. Every word and action demonstrate the depth of Faith in circumstances. Faith, in the temple within, – not made of stone and mortar but of body and soul which the “Promise” is inherited and may be guaranteed if we live the Faith like Abraham, like Joseph. Can we find precious moments to nourish our Faith in silent prayer and meditation, daily Mass and spiritual reading?
Is your Faith blooming and fragrant with Grace?
