November 7, 2015 – January 21, 2017, the Dominican Province of Saint Martin de Porres, along with the Order of Preachers around the world, celebrated the 800th anniversary (or Jubilee) of the approbation of the Order by Pope Honorius III in 1216.

Living Our Legacy: A Dominican Family Conference

"This conference is a great celebration of who we are as we gather under the patronage of St. Martin
de Porres. Although it is unlikely that Martin ever preached from a pulpit, he preached by his
holy life. Along with his friend, St. Rose, Martin revealed the love of Christ for all as he cared for
the poor and the sick, and even his beloved animals! Of course we know that he devoted hours to

Jubilee Prayer

God, Father of mercy,
who called your servant Dominic de Guzman
to set out in faith as an itinerant pilgrim and a preacher of grace,
as we celebrate the Jubilee of the Order
we ask you to pour again into us the Spirit of the Risen Christ,
that we might faithfully and joyfully proclaim the Gospel of peace,
through the same Christ our Lord. Amen.
