It was the day after Christmas and all through the house there was not a present unopened, our hospitality worn out. The cards were half-read with the money half-spent, the kids were still screaming and the parents needed to vent.
Then along came this strange feast day, a martyr for sure, no longer wrapped in cheer only red blood to allure. The readings are not filled with laughter, nor cute babies, nor joyful air, only the Word speaks in that Winged Man’s book, BEWARE!
Yet, we are not fearful on this day after Christmas for we hope that our life too can become that true witness. So, continue to live, continue to sacrifice, continue to preach with all your might, that Christ indeed lives on today through his Body, day and night!
