Jesus said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you looking for?” She thought it was the gardener and said to him, “Sir, if you carried him away, tell me where you laid him, and I will take him.”
How many times have I wept like Mary Magdalene and became so paralyzed by fear that I did not recognize my Savior? Too many to count and that is for sure. The hardship of life, whether real or imagined cut deep into my heart. Bitterness and resentment almost quenched the fire in my soul. Often in varied states of dismay the Lord and our Savior would send me cues and clues to direct me to his greatness. For many years, those clues went unnoticed.
As time marched on the Holy Spirit directed me to Lectio Divina (Latin for "Divine Reading"). It was through divine reading where grace and healing washed over me.
It was there within divine reading, where I felt Jesus’ unwavering presence, comfort, and solace. Thank you, Lord, for helping me to fan the flames within my soul. Thank you, Lord, for calming Mary Magdalene’s spirit so that she could tell us the good news.
