April 9, 2022We hear a lot in today’s readings about land, nation, and inheritance. GOD revealed to the prophet Ezekiel His plan to restore the people of Israel to their land as one nation with one prince over them all. If we read this only literally, we will miss the prophecy of Christ and the purpose of His death and resurrection to open the gates of heaven to all.
The everlasting covenant between GOD and us has nothing to do with acreage or a just political leader – it is about eternal life with Him in heaven! When we turn our focus away from our selfishness and pride and follow GOD’s commandments our lives on earth will be peaceful. GOD will shepherd us to our eternal reward where there is no comparison of one against another for all are one in HIM.
