Behold the wood of the Cross,
born like any other
but cut down by another.
Behold the wood of the Cross,
no more life, no more rings to count the years watered only by Christ’s blood and mother’s tears.
Behold the wood of the Cross,
molded and formed into a public and cruel weapon of execution transform by grace into the throne of our salvation.
Behold the wood of the Cross,
carried, fallen, pierced, and hung up.
Behold the wood of the Cross,
on which hung the Savior of the world.
