By this time tomorrow it will be Christmas.
There is a certain sense of relief in the air. All the preparations that we have made - the meal, the decorations, the presents, the travel - will soon see their fulfillment. It’s tempting to get caught up in the tv commercials and internet ads that tell us about all the last minute sales. It’s also easy to get absorbed by movies and stories about family get-togethers and the like. In all of the preparations for tomorrow, we might become susceptible to forget about Jesus.
All of the readings for today point to what will happen tomorrow - Jesus will be born. God becomes one of us. Jesus begins his mission of salvation of our souls and bringing us to heaven.
Today, the day before Christmas, keep Jesus front and center in all that you do, otherwise, something very important will be missing come Christmas Day.
