Early in the morning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary witness the empty tomb of the Lord and heed the angel’s message of comfort and mission. Jesus meets the two women on their way to the other disciples. Afraid and yet full of joy, the women cling to the feet of God here on Earth while He still trods in the flesh. However, Christ, our risen Lord, instructs the women to bring the good news of His resurrection to His brothers.
Christ meets us today in sacramental signs, and we are inspired to cling to Him in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the altar. Still, Christ bids us not to be afraid but go tell His brothers and sisters the good news of His resurrection.
In our pilgrimage to join Christ in heaven, let us savor the visits He makes to us, especially in the sacraments, with confidence that He is always with us and announce the good news to everyone that JESUS CHRIST IS RISEN! ALLELUIA!
