Reflection by Br. Carlos Salas, OP: We believe in a God who can transform us. And it is our duty as disciples to share that truth with others, especially “to those whose hearts are frightened.” We exercise the spiritual works of mercy by sharing this message of God’s power, promise, and mercy. Our blessed Lord fulfills Isaiah’s prophecy by His healing miracles. Jesus Christ gives sight to the blind, makes the deaf hear, and the mute can speak. His power is boundless. At all times, we must hand over our poor conditions to God, that He may do with them what we need. Giving of ourselves entirely to Him is the best option that we have for all those illnesses of our body, mind, and soul. That is the message that we must share with our frightened brothers and sisters who feel lost and as if with no one to help them. God is always there for them. Maybe you are the one who needs to tell them that.	Reflexión por Fray Carlos Salas, OP: Creemos en un Dios que nos puede transformar. Y es nuestro deber como discípulos compartir esa verdad con otros, especialmente con “los de corazón apocado.” Ejercitamos las obras de misericordia espirituales al compartir este mensaje del poder, promesa, y misericordia de Dios. Nuestro bendito Señor cumple la profecía de Isaías con Sus milagros de sanación. Jesucristo abre los ojos de los ciegos, hace que los sordos oigan, y que los mudos hablen. Su poder no tiene límite. A toda hora debemos entregar nuestras condiciones pobres a Dios, para que Él haga con ellas lo que necesitamos. Entregarnos enteramente a Él es la mejor opción que tenemos para todas aquellas enfermedades de nuestro cuerpo, mente, y alma. Ese es el mensaje que debemos compartir con nuestros hermanos y hermanas que se encuentran apocados, que se sienten perdidos y como sin nadie quien les ayude. Dios es siempre ahí con ellos. Tal vez usted sea la persona que necesita decirles eso.
Something to think about: If Jesus Christ can restore someone to physical health, how much more could He not do to restore us to mental and spiritual health, also? The letter of James today gives us an example of our sometimes-twisted standards. Maybe reread it and ponder, Have I found myself giving preference to those who might have something to give me in return? We may even do it unconsciously, yet we must be aware of our neighbors, regardless of what they can do for us or what they are wearing. Ask our Lord to help you be more like Him, to see the inherent value of each person, and to act accordingly. What areas of my life need healing? Have I asked our blessed Lord to heal me wholly? Our Lord instituted the Sacraments of Healing for our needs. Have I been shy about approaching these Sacraments (particularly Confession and Anointing of the Sick)?	Algo en que pensar: Si Jesucristo puede restaurar a alguien a la salud física, ¿cuánto más no podría restaurarnos a la salud mental y espiritual también? La carta del Apóstol Santiago hoy nos da un ejemplo de nuestros estándares a veces torcidos. Talvez relea la lectura y pondere. ¿Me he encontrado dándole preferencia a aquellos quienes puedan tener algo para ofrecerme de regreso? Incluso podemos hacerlo inconscientemente, pero debemos ser conscientes de nuestros vecinos, sin importar lo que puedan hacer por nosotros o cómo visten. Pídele a nuestro Señor que te ayude a ser más como Él, para ver el valor inherente de cada persona y actuar de manera debida. ¿Qué áreas de mi vida necesitan sanación? ¿Le he preguntado a nuestro bendito Señor que me sane completamente? Nuestro Señor instituyó los Sacramentos de Sanación para nuestras necesidades. ¿He sido tímido al acercarme a estos Sacramentos (particularmente la Confesión y la Unción de los Enfermos)?
